Twenty acres. Stone pathways, meadows, gardens, and a seamless blend of historic and modern architecture tucked away in Andover, New Jersey. Over twenty-five years of weddings, and photographers still find angles no one has ever shot before. Consider this list of our couples’ favorite photo locations as a starting point to all the opportunities awaiting at Crossed Keys Estate.

The Garden

The Garden at Crossed Keys Estate pairs stone walls with seasonal blooms and a Juliet balcony, creating a naturally romantic setting that needs very little beyond good light. Roam the brick walkways, linger on the bench, or step onto the Juliet balcony for a different vantage point. The adjoining lawn is where outdoor ceremonies take place, and is photogenic from every angle.

The Reflection Pond

Shaded and peaceful, the Reflection Pond is a favorite Crossed Keys location for first looks, private vows, and portraits. Stand at the water’s edge, and get a mirrored double of every shot. Step back into the surrounding greenery, and the mood turns more ethereal.

The Tree-Lined Driveway

The driveway has been a go-to Crossed Keys Estate location for decades, and it earns a top spot on this list every time. Naturally framed by a variety of trees, it photographs beautifully in every season and at every hour of the day. At its base, a shaded seating area welcomes arriving guests and doubles just as naturally for portraits.

The Weeping Beech Tree

At the top of the driveway sits the weeping beech; its draping branches create one of the most intimate and romantic spots on the property.

The Park

Tucked behind the Farmhouse and Conservatory, the Park is a natural golden hour destination with weeping willow trees, stone walkways, and seasonal blooms. Limelight hydrangeas appear in August, shifting from lime to white to blush pink through fall before drying into a winter backdrop, creating different backdrops depending on your date.

The Farmhouse Window

The Farmhouse’s floor-to-ceiling windows are unlike anything else on the property. Depending on the hour, they reflect the open sky, the surrounding gardens, or the glow of celebration inside.

The Conservatory & Courtyard

Inside the Conservatory, floor-to-ceiling windows shelter you from the elements while the property unfolds around you. Natural light pours in from every angle, even on overcast days, making it as versatile for portraits as it is for cocktail hour. Outside, the courtyard offers seasonal blooms, stone pathways, and open views of the grounds. Later in the evening, chandeliers take over for a dramatic glow, and the fire pit brings a warmer, cozier light to the patio.

The Farmhouse & Conservatory Porticos

Two covered outdoor spaces with modern farmhouse character as your backdrop. A reliable choice when weather is unpredictable, stay dry without sacrificing the outdoor feel.

The Meadow

The Meadow is an open, flat area surrounded by greenery and a simple wooden fence line. Located close to the ceremony space, it’s spacious enough for couples’ portraits and for gathering larger groups of family and friends.

The Meadow Garden

A different feel entirely. At its peak, June through September, when wildflowers bloom along the edges. In winter, the surrounding trees are lit for evening portraits.

The Putting Green

The Putting Green at Crossed Keys Estate is a go-to for groomsmen portraits that feel effortless.

The Stone Cottage

A private space to slip into your dress. The vanity and interior details are quietly photogenic, and the Juliet balcony offers a view of the grounds worth capturing, whether you’re in a robe or your dress. Just outside, stone walls add another natural frame for photos.

The Playhouse

The Playhouse was designed for wedding mornings and bridal portraits, featuring ornate mirrors, charming interior details, and a wall of windows for natural light. The stone pathway leading up to the Playhouse is a favorite Crossed Keys location for first looks and for popping a bottle of prosecco with the wedding party.

Beside the Playhouse, towering trees anchor a shaded, fairytale-like cove. It’s a reliable spot when direct sun is a challenge, and it doubles as a stunning golden hour location.

The Bar

Not just for grabbing a cocktail. The backsplash of the bar is both moody and romantic. Sneak over during the reception to share a drink and snap some late-night shots.
