Every year, Pantone reveals it’s color of the year prediction. Last year the choice was Tangerine Tango, a reddish-orange shade. This year, Pantone has chosen Emerald.
Unfortunately, I’m going to have to disagree with you Pantone! The color of the year for me is navy.
Not only do I have several brides who has chosen navy bridesmaids dress and decor details, but I love this color for all things wedding. It works for beach weddings, country weddings, and everything in between. Navy is dramatic and elegant and makes even a simple affair feel upscale without being stuffy.
My absolute favorite thing about navy is how you can subtly use it in floral work with much lighter colors such as ivory or peach, or with a mixture of light and dark like the combinations below.
Which leads me to my next point: burgundy. This color in the floral world is rich and deep while still having the bright beauty of a jewel tone. In my opinion, burgundy is the new blush. If you think these dark colors are only for fall and winter weddings, think again. By adding just touches of these dark colors to springy, light flowers, you create a romantic look or a more wildflower feel.
